This week has been taken from the "Music" section of the Fashion Illustration book and it's none other than The Supremes.
The Supremes were known for their glamour, sophistication , talent and their fabulous costumes. Successful during a period of social change in America, they were a great example of modern women. They purchased their own costumers in the beginning of their career but it was Hollywood designer Bob Mackie who was responsible for these creations. Made especially for their appearance on G.I.T on Broadway in 1969. Their costumes were embellished with all things sparkly - beads, sequins and a pink feathered hem and cost around $20,000 each in today's money.
If that doesn't make you want to shake your tail feather, I don't know what does!
