#MarchMeetTheMaker - Day 25
Day 25 - Starting Point
I started The Pink Flamingo a couple of years after graduating Uni. Although it took those couple of years for it to become The Pink Flamingo.
I graduated from Manchester Met in 2013 with a 2:1 in Fashion. I moved back home and had no clue what I wanted to do next, but I knew that I didn't want to stop Sewing and run the risk of forgetting everything I had just learned!
So I started making clothes and eventually set up a very basic Etsy shop. I was going through a bit of an odd time in my life and Sewing is what saw me through. I sold a couple of bits so made some more, and then eventually sold those. I realised after 18 months or so that I could (maybe) turn this into a business!
The Pink Flamingo didn't come about until 4th July 2015 and it wasn't until I did my Pop Up shop in May 2016 that I got myself an accountant and started taking things more seriously.
If you'd have told me 5 years ago that I'd be running my own Sewing Business, I'd have laughed! But sometimes you just need to relax and go with the flow!
I honestly wouldn't change it for the world!
