#MarchMeetTheMaker - Day 2
Day 2 : Style
I would say that my style is SUMMER!
Style is a bit of a funny one to describe, I would say that I have 3 key words when designing or choosing fabric and they are : Bright, Printed and Statement.
I LOVE anything that reminds me of Summer and that is always at the back of my mind when I'm making.
My personal style isn't always the most colourful, but a typical outfit for me would be a plain coloured jersey dress with a bright coloured kimono thrown on over the top. I try to reflect my personal style into my makes and design something that I wish I was brave enough to wear everyday!
Something lightweight that you can throw on to go to a festival or to the beach is what I aim to make! Something that makes a statement even if the rest of your outfit is plain. I absolutely love floral prints (the more garish and retro, the better!) I am always on the lookout for new flamingo prints and my newest obsession this year is fruity prints. Anything that reminds me of long walks, BBQ's, Holidays, Picnics in the parks and those long summer days when you can chill out with your friends.
I am also not a fan of anything too fitted or skin tight (personally and when making) and I believe us women should have room to move in our clothes so I am a massive fan of a "casual" silhouette. This means boxy tee's and swing camisoles plus slightly oversized shorts that nip you in at the waist.
I also think that fashion should be FUN!
We all come in different shapes and sizes and fashion should be accessible for us all no matter what size we are. I aim to make playful clothing that doesn't take its self too seriously and that is easy to fit into any wardrobe to brighten up everyday!
