Day 6 #ReducingWaste
Today is an important one for me because I am always trying to do my bit in reducing waste, not only with fabric but with paper and plastic too.
First of all, I always use my fabric in the most resourceful way, by laying out my patterns properly and keeping the decent sized off cuts to use on another project.
I have been making things recently to use up these scraps: Bunting, Teddy bears, Draw string bags...
Someone told me the other day that they not only use their scraps to make teddy bears, but they even use their teeny tiny scraps to fill the bears, rather than using polyester wadding. I am yet to try this but I will be doing!
I do also sell my fabric scraps on my Etsy site:
I know how hard it is to get multiple colours, prints, textures without spending a fortune, so I sell on my decent sized remnants to Quilters and Crafters who find good uses for them!
